ONESIES and pyjamas became uniform for the day at Reigate College. Students at the Castlefield Road site threw themselves into the nocturnal fancy dress event to kick off a week of fundraising activities.
With a fashion show and band contest also forming part of the festivities, the students hope to have raised £1,500 during the week – which matches what they raised during the winter term.
The student union organised the event and let students choose the five charities to benefit from the funds.
Stephanie Whitelock, the college's enhancement events manager, commended the students' efforts.
"We have charity days most terms," she said.
"The students wanted to do a whole week of events where there was something taking place every lunchtime.
"It's been hectic but students are in The Rec at the moment working hard to raise money."
Following last Monday's slumber-party themed day, there were pancakes on Tuesday and a fashion show on Wednesday.
A band competition and Valentine's-themed activities including a love wall where students could post messages, wrapped up events at the end of the week. "A lot of the pieces in the fashion show were put together by the fashion students," Mrs Whitelock added.
All the activities, which were run by the students with the help of Mrs Whitelock and her colleague Anne Taylor, took place during the students' lunch breaks.
The charities to benefit from the event were the Teenage Cancer Trust, The Arthrogryposis Group, which supports youngsters born with curved or deformed limbs, Great Ormond Street Hospital, the A21 Campaign, which combats human trafficking, and soldier support group the Pilgrim Bandits.
