A TAXI driver was robbed at gunpoint in Epsom on Friday night.
The cabbie picked up a woman and two men from Worcester Park and took them to Epsom at about 11.20pm.
Stopping at an address in Stanton Close, Epsom, the woman and one of the men got out, leaving the other man in the back.
The first man came back to the taxi a short time later, pointing a gun at the driver and demanded his wallet and his mobile phone, which the driver handed over.
The second man, also carrying a gun, got out of the taxi, and the three suspects disappeared towards Stanton Close.
The taxi driver was unharmed but was left shaken by the ordeal.
Surrey Police is appealing for witnesses. Detective Sergeant Jules Knowles, who is investigating the incident, said: "This was an extremely unpleasant ordeal for the taxi driver, who was just trying to do his job. Luckily he was not injured but the passengers still managed to get away with his wallet and mobile phone at great cost and inconvenience to him."
Anyone with information is asked to call Surrey Police on 101, quoting crime number EP/13/842 or Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555 111.
