CHIPSTEAD golf star Josh White is aiming to continue England's recent domination of one of Europe's most prestigious amateur events this week.
The Copa S.M El Rey takes place at La Manga Club with English players seeking a fourth win in a row at the Spanish International Amateur Championship.
The 21-year-old Chipstead Golf Club ace is one of ten members of England's current elite amateur squad taking their place in the 115-man field at La Manga Club's South Cours
Joining him will be defending champion Jack Hiluta, Nathan Kimsey, Max Orrin, Garrick Porteous, Callum Shinkwin, Craig Hinton, Jordan Smith, Jamie Rutherford and 2012 Brabazon Trophy winner Neil Raymond.
But they face strong opposition from some of Europe's best up-and coming golfers, including France's Adrien Saddier, the highest ranked player in the event and world number 23.
All of the field will be following in the footsteps of an illustrious list of previous winners including European Ryder Cup-winning captain Jose Maria Olazabal, 2011 Open champion Darren Clarke and top Spanish star Sergio Garcia.
La Manga Club's South Course will put the continent's rising stars' skills to the test though, with the 6,499-metre lay-out having hosted numerous high-profile tournaments in the past including the Spanish Open five times and qualifying schools for both the European Tour and Ladies' European Tour.
