LEATHERHEAD remain fifth in the Ryman League Division One South after a 1-1 draw with Folkestone Invicta at Fetcham Grove last night (Wednesday).

The Tanners drew at home for only the second time this season after Tom Bradbrook's opener was cancelled out by Phil Stevenson 15 minutes from time.

Both goals came from substitutes, as Bradbrook continued his recovery from injury by replacing Tommy Hutchings before going on to give the Tanners the lead just after the hour mark.

But a triple substitution from the visitors paid off when Stevenson grabbed a fortuitous goal on 75 minutes.

Both sides pressed for a winner, but the play-off rivals had to each settle for a point – Folkestone's sixth draw in their last 11 games and only the Tanners' third stalemate of the season.

The result leaves both teams on 54 points, but the Tanners currently occupy the final play-off spot, still with two games in hand on Invicta and Sittingbourne in seventh.

Automatic promotion now looks beyond the Tanners, with leaders Maidstone United 15 points away having played one game more, and second-placed Dulwich Hamlet nine points ahead of the Tanners with two games in hand.

Leatherhead travel to face Eastbourne Town on Saturday.
