FORTY fire-fighters tackled a roof fire on a house in Haslemere for 10 hours after reports of people trapped inside.
Crews arrived at the Bunch Lane property at 6.30am on Saturday morning with 24 breathing apparatus, six hose reels, two jets and an aerial ladder platform.
The 13 residents, and a dog, got out of the house but had to be rehoused.
A spokeswoman at Surrey Fire and Rescue control room said the two-storey property was divided up into three homes.
