Reigate's Max Chilton found the going tough on the opening day of practice for the Malaysian Grand Prix, finishing last in both sessions.
In difficult - wet/dry - conditions, the Marussia driver was two seconds slower than his team-mate Jules Bianchi in second practice.
He will be hoping for better in tomorrow's qualifying session.
Red Bull's Mark Webber was fastest in first practice, with Australian race winner Kimi Raikkonen setting the pace in the afternoon.
