PUPILS at Hazelwood School have been awarded top marks in their recent Independent Schools Inspectorate report (ISI).
Learning, academic achievements, behaviour, and moral and social attitudes were rated as "excellent" by the ISI after a visit to the Oxted school in January.
Inspectors said they were impressed with the breadth of extracurricular activities at the school and praised the "innovative curriculum" and level of collaborative learning.
The early years and nursery were also praised for being a setting which "makes outstanding provision to meet the needs of the children who attend".
In a note to parents head teacher Maxine Shaw said: "The findings of the team highlight many of the wonderful achievements of your children and also recognise the hard work and dedication of the staff team and governors.
"The nursery and the school go from strength to strength and the report reflects this. The inspectors all spoke so highly of our children and thoroughly enjoyed their time at Hazelwood and The Larks [nursery].
" They could see the huge strides forward which have been made since our last inspection and were excited about how fast we were moving towards our vision."
