PUPILS from Oxted School organised five special events as part of their Raising and Giving Week to donate money to charities close to their hearts.
Sixth Form students raised money for Lingfield charity Matthew's Friends, as well as Cancer Research in memory of Sue Richardson, a former science teacher at Oxted School who died last year.
Events included a staff vs students hockey match – which resulted in a 0-0 draw – a "bean bath" for the head boy and head girl, and a Sixth Form man auction.
Sixth Form student Layla Doyle, 18, said: "We chose Matthew's Friends because it's a local charity that we, as a school, have close links to. And we chose Cancer Research in memory of Mrs Richardson, and because we feel that cancer is something a lot of people have been affected by, whether it be directly or indirectly."
