LAST month over 150 gymnasts from Donyngs Leisure Centre's gymnastics programme took part in the third annual show titled "Inspire" in honour of the London Olympics legacy to inspire a generation, writes Judy Clark.

The show was held at Donyngs in Linkfield Lane, Redhill, and saw the gymnasts perform group routines to music.

The show was a great success with over 500 spectators attending the two-day event.

The gymnastics programme at Donyngs has grown in strength and numbers over the last three years.

The annual show was evidence of how far the club has flourished.

At the end of the show the general manger announced that Greenwich Leisure Ltd (GLL) would be able to fund £4,500 in new equipment for the growing club. The equipment includes a ladies' FIG-approved high beam and a set of uneven bars, which is great news for the leisure centre's gymnastics programme.

If you are interested in attending gymnastics lessons at Donyngs, contact the centre on 01737 764 732, alternatively visit the website www.sportscourses.org.
