Ollie Thornton's injury-time strike condemned Tunbridge Wells to a fourth straight defeat as Whyteleafe edged this Kent League Premier Division match at the Culverden 3-2. The visitors took the lead on just four minutes, Roscoe D'Sane racing away from the Wells defence down the right and hitting a first time shot past Chris Oladogba, who was caught in no man's land. In an even first period, Wells enjoyed most of the territory and possession, but it was Whyteleafe who had the better chances. Oladogba saved superbly with his head to deny D'Sane a second before Wells pulled level. Keelan Mooney, on his return to the starting line-up, looped a cross high to the far post and Andy Irvine rose brilliantly to find the far corner with his header. Irvine had two easier headed chances late in the first half, but missed on both occasions. The hosts, playing their fourth game in five days, were the brighter team at the start of the second period. One wonderful run from Jon Pilbeam should have resulted in a goal, but Joe Fuller, from two yards out, saw his effort blocked. Wells also thought they should have had a penalty when Irvine was upended, but it was Leafe, slightly against the run of play, who would take the lead on 68 minutes. The dangerous D'Sane was tripped by Adam Humphrey and Paul Scott tucked home the spot-kick. But the hosts drew level again, Carl Cornell firing home from close range after more good play from Pilbeam, whose effort had been blocked. In an end to end finale both sides had chances. For the hosts Andy McMath blazed over, while Cornell's cross eluded Josh Stanford, who would have had a tap-in if the ball had found him. It would prove costly as with 94 minutes on the clock, Thronton capitalised on a mistake from Whibley, raced into the box and showed great composure to slot the winner past Oladogba.
