SEVERE congestion on the M25 caused by an accident near Leatherhead this morning has now cleared.
At one stage three lanes of the motorway had to be closed between junction 9 (A243 Leatherhead) and junction 10 (A3 Wisley Interchange).
The congestion was adding an estimated two hours to journeys and drivers were being advised to avoid the area.
The incident has been reported as cleared, and the last remaining closed lane reopened, at 10.15am.
It is the third day in a row there has been significant congestion on that stretch of the M25.
