An unexploded grenade was found in Godstone yesterday.
Police were called to Flower Lane at around 8.50am on Thursday, April 25 following a report that a suspected unexploded World War two grenade had been found at the location.
A cordon was put in place in the area and officers from the Explosives Ordinance Disposal Unit (MoD) carried out a controlled explosion.
The area was reopened around 1.20pm.
Members of the public are thanked for their patience while emergency crews attended to this incident.
