A SUPERMARKET has raised almost £5,000 for the Teenage Cancer Trust.
The O'Sullivans Budgens store in Fetcham collected £4,732 over a week of fundraising between April 8 and 13.
The store's efforts culminated in a food and fun event on the Saturday, at which former footballer Ray Wilkins drew the winners of a raffle.
Prizes including items signed by singer Lana Del Ray, who is a supporter of the trust, and a voucher for Chelsea FC's training Soccer Schools.
During the week, store manager Helen Eves also single-handedly raised £150 by dressing up as Superwoman for a day.
The Cobham Road store owner Danny O'Sullivan said: "We are absolutely delighted.
"There was great involvement from the community, brilliant effort from local suppliers, and Ray Wilkins was an absolute star."
The idea for the event came from three members of staff at the store, Mitch Skilton, Adam Tucker and Tom Nolan, who are all aged under 21 and were inspired to support the work of the trust.
