MOTORISTS wishing to enjoy Mole Valley's stunning scenery are warned to be cautious following two handbag thefts from cars last weekend. The windows of both vehicles were smashed after being left by their owners in beauty spot car parks. One theft took place in the Ranmore area and one in the Abinger area. Mole Valley's neighbourhood inspector Andy Rundle said: "Obviously we are in an area of outstanding natural beauty. "We have a large number of fantastic places to go to enjoy the outdoors and a lot of beauty spot car parks across the borough. "This is very much a seasonal crime pattern. "Please come and enjoy everything Mole Valley has to offer but do not leave valuables in your car and leave your vehicle secure. "I would not want someone's day out to be ruined by being a victim of crime. "Although it is a low number so far, we want to keep it low. "We will use covert police tactics where appropriate to apprehend and arrest the people responsible and bring them before the courts. "Anyone using the car parks who sees anything suspicious should call police and report any specific details." Police in Mole Valley also today posted a video advising on how to avoid vehicle crime:
