S CLUB 7 singer Paul Cattermole is set to illuminate Walton at this weekend's Christmas lights switch-on.
The former popstar will join Santa and the Mayor of Elmbridge councillor Janet Turner at 6pm on Saturday (November 17) when The Heart's festive lights will be turned on.
The switch-on will form part of the Christmas Festival of Light celebrations of which full details have now been announced.
The festival runs from 10am to 7pm and features the annual parade of handmade lanterns at 5.30pm.
The procession will be led by Oatlands Park Pipe Band with Molesey Scout Band and Walton Rotary Club's Christmas sleigh carrying the mayor.
The festival, organised by Walton Business Group (WBG) and The Heart shopping centre, will also include live music and entertainment, late night shopping, stalls and children's rides and a Santa's grotto.
Sarah-Jane Shellard, WBG director and event organiser, said: "A great event is planned for local residents and visitors. This is a unique day each year when all parts of the community come together to celebrate the start of the festive period and showcase our town."
