STRATEGICALLY-PLACED buns and flowers will protect the modesty of six woman as they take the stage near-naked at Oxted's Barn Theatre next week.
The Oxted Players' cast will strip off on stage as part of stage -show Calendar Girls, which tells the story of a group of women from a Yorskire Women's Institute who decide to bare all to raise money for charity.
Sharron Cox will be playing Miss October in the show – running from Wednesday to Saturday – and said there was a little apprehension as opening night approaches.
The 51-year-old told the Mirror: "It seemed like a good idea at the time, but I just wish I had stuck to the diet now.
"This is the first time I have ever performed Calendar Girls.
"It is the first time I have got my kit off on stage, but it's quite liberating. I do not know how I am going to feel when there is an audience watching though."
The ladies have all been reassured that props will be placed to cover their modesty in the one naked scene of the show.
"We have been assured that everything has been strategically placed and you won't be able to see anything, but we will have to wait and see," she added.
"I just hope they're right. What I am wearing is like an Alice band and I have a horrible feeling that it will ping off into the audience."
The women have also released a calendar of their own, which will be sold at the performances at the Bluehouse Lane theatre. All the calendar proceeds will go to Leukaemia and Lymphoma Research.
