CAMPAIGNERS are protesting against the threatened closure of the A&E and maternity units at Epsom Hospital as the health minister Jeremy Hunt visits the University of Surrey today.
Keep Our NHS Public is staging the protest as the MP is speaking at the university from 2pm.
Richard Donelly from the group said: "We believe that Jeremy Hunt has no place in Guildford. He is preceding over a £21 billion national cut to the NHS budget, which is resulting in the closure of A&E departments across the country.
"In particular, the closures at Epsom and St Helier hospitals will put added pressure on the remaining A&E departments in Surrey and SW London, such as the Royal Surrey in Guildford.
"We're outraged by Jeremy Hunt's plans to privatise large sections of the NHS."
