MAX CHILTON brought his Marussia car home in 14th in an action-packed Monaco Grand Prix this afternoon (Sunday).
The Reigate man, who started 22nd on the grid in today's Formula 1 race, finished ahead of Caterham's Giedo van der Garde, while his team-mate Jules Bianchi was forced to retire after 58 laps.
But it was an eventful race with several crashes, with three safety car periods and a red flag stoppage that lasted half an hour following a collision between Chilton and Williams' Pastor Maldonado, which saw the Marussia man given a drive through penalty for his part in the incident.
Elsewhere, McLaren's Sergio Perez was forced to retire with five laps to go after a collision with Lotus' Kimi Raikkonen, while Ferrari's Felipe Massa crashed out after hitting a barrier around the famous street circuit for a second time this weekend.
Lotus' Romain Grosjean was also involved in a collision with Toro Rosso's Daniel Ricciardo on lap 62.
The race was won by Mercedes' Nico Rosberg, with current world champion Sebastien Vettel finishing second and his Red Bull team-mate Mark Webber completing the podium.
