The Met Office has issued an Amber alert and warned residents in the South East and in London that there is a 90 per cent of heatwave conditions today (Tue).
The level three warning was put in place yesterday and is expected to stay in place until 9pm tonight.
But they have also warned of an increasing risk of thunderstorms and long spells of thundery rain throughout the day.
Rain is expected during parts of the morning before sunny intervals followed by more rain in the evening.
Commuters have been warned of possible travel delays due to the expected conditions.
