THOUSANDS are expected to line Surrey's streets today to cheer on 20,000 keen cyclists in a strenuous 100-mile ride. The Prudential RideLondon-Surrey 100 and Classic races are both taking place, with the latter event featuring 150 of the world's top professional male cyclists battling it out over the Surrey Hills. Organisers recommend Dorking and Leatherhead as prime viewing points along the route. Other recommended locations in Surrey are Hampton Court, Walton-on-Thames, Weybridge, Abinger Hammer, Cobham and Esher. 150 professional cyclists, including Tour de France sprint champion Peter Sagan, will climb the steep gradient of Leith Hill three times. They are expected to do so between 3pm and 4.20pm. They are then expected to be sprinting through Dorking from 4.20pm onwards, before ascending dramatic Box Hill at about 4.40pm. They will be powering through Leatherhead between 4.40 and 5.25pm, and are expected to be sprinting through Cobham on their way back to London from 5pm. Meanwhile the 20,000 amateur cyclists taking part are expected in Dorking from 8.30am, with the peak flow of riders between 10am and noon. In Leatherhead, cyclists are expected from 9am, with peak flow from 10.50am to 12.50pm. They are expected to hit the Leith Hill summit between 8.20am and 1.05pm, and the Box Hill summit between 8.45am and 2pm. Are you heading down to watch the cyclists in the Ride100?
