One week after a Dormansland man went missing, his friends and family have said they will not give up searching. Over the weekend, Surrey Search and Rescue scoured the village and surrounding area for David Pickett. The 34-year-old was reported missing in the early hours of Monday, July 29 when he failed to show up for work at Greathed Manor Nursing Home, in Ford Manor Road. His dog Talan - a Staffordshire bull terrier cross American bulldog - was found on the same day around the Marsh Green area. The search and rescue teams used dogs and a helicopter to help with the search on Saturday and Sunday. "We will never give up look for him," said friend Sam Bradley. "We are all frustrated that we have been searching for so long and yet there has been no sign of him at all." Friends and family will be heading out again either tonight (Monday, August 5) or tomorrow. "We have exhausted this area and we have searched high and low for him," added Sam. "But now we need to go further afield because he has been missing for seven days. "If he had kept walking he could be anywhere now, like Tunbridge Wells. The area we need to search now is unknown to us and so could take us a little longer. "We will talk today (Monday, August 5) about the best plan of action." As well as searching, photos of David are being shown to shop owners and managers, pub landlords, homeless shelters and volunteers that help the homeless. "Someone must have seen him," Sam added. "We are so desperate to find him, or even just to find some kind of clue where he is." David is described as short in height, of thin build with light brown curly hair and wears glasses. Any sightings of David should be reported to Surrey Police on 101 quoting reference number P13229119.
