A former soldier has been jailed for four years for sexually abusing two girls in Fetcham more than 20 years ago. Kevin Wells, 56, admitted ten charges of indecent assault against the girls when one was aged between 12 and 14 and the other was aged between 13 and 15. At the time of the crimes he had just left the army and lived with his wife, who worked for Surrey Police, and their young son in Eastwick Drive, Fetcham. The offences happened between 1988 and 1991. Now of Stockmeadow Gardens, Bishopsteignton, Devon, Wells shook in the dock and needed assistance to stand as judge Christopher Crithclow handed down the sentence at Guildford Crown Court this morning. He was jailed for a total of 27 months for six offences against one girl, and will serve an additional 21 months for four offences against the other girl. He is also subject to a sexual offences prevention order and is barred from working with children for life.
