A man in his 30s has been charged with one count of rape, three counts of fraud and one count of theft following an incident in South Godstone.
The incident occurred during the early hours of Saturday August 3 when the victim, a woman in her 30s, left a nightclub in Shoreditch and accepted a lift home.
A security guard found the victim in a distressed state along Bone Mill Lane at around 4.30am and contacted police.
A man was arrested in connection with this incident on Wednesday August 28.
Later the same day Paul Michael Causer, 38, of Barfleur Lane, Deptford was charged and appeared before Woking magistrates today.
He he was released on bail to appear at Guildford Crown Court on September 13.
