TWO puppies have been stolen from a dog rescue centre, leaving the owner distraught. The springer/collie cross puppy bitches were taken in the early hours of Tuesday (3) from Valgrays Border Collie Rescue centre in Crewes Lane, Warlingham. Intruders broke into a rear a stable where the rescue pups were being housed, before forcing open padlocks. Val Phillips, who runs the centre, said: "I'm devastated. "These 10-week-old puppies were in a poor state when we took them in about three weeks ago. "They were due to be re-homed shortly with loving families." She said hundreds of posters appealing for the pups' return are being put up as far afield as Bletchingley and Coulsdon. And an appeal has even been made on East Surrey Cats Protection's Facebook site. Both dogs were microchipped with the rescue centre's details A post on Surrey Police's Tandridge Beat Facebook site said: "Did you see anything? Have you been offered one for sale? "Please contact us, quoting ref TD/13/4207,if you can help."
