Top Ten: Movies of 2013

This has been a bumper year for films with cinemagoers served a veritable feast of blockbusters, action, comedy and roamnce. Alongside the, now standard, spate of superhero flicks (Iron Man 3, Man of Steel) we have also seen animated family fun (Despicable Me 2). But no matter the genre the sequels still dominate as studios stick to what they know will work. Here we run down the top 10 films of 2013 (so far!) Oh and if you've not seen them, scroll down to the bottom for trailers of the top five. 1. Man of Steel Henry Cavill stars as Superman in this reboot of the famous franchise. Clark Kent is forced to face his heritage and poers when earth comes under threat. 2. Iron Man 3 Robert Downey Jr returns as Tony Stark/Iron Man as he faces off against a brand new terrorist threat and his own personal demons. 3. Despicable Me 2 Gru and his adorable Minions return for another outing, this time trying to save the world rather than conquer it. 4. Star Trek: Into Darkness Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto and Benerdict Cumberbatch star as Captain Kirk and his crew fae off against a brand new threat. 5. Fast & Furious 6 Vin Diesel, Paul Walker and the team return in the latest installment of the car-crazy franchise. 6. Pacific Rim As a war between humankind and monstrous sea creatures wages on, a former pilot and a trainee are paired up to drive a seemingly obsolete special weapon in a desperate effort to save the world from the apocalypse. 7. Monsters University See how Mike and Sully first met as they both enrol on the scarers course at Monsters U. 8. Elysium Set in the year 2154, where the very wealthy live on a man-made space station while the rest of the population resides on a ruined Earth, a man takes on a mission that could bring equality to the polarized worlds. 9. Oz the Great and Powerful James Franco stars as the small-time magician is swept away to an enchanted land and is forced into a power struggle between three witches. A prequel to the Wizard of Oz. 10.
