A CHARITABLE youngster has overcome epilepsy and autism to become a top fundraiser.
Millie Mcwann, six, has raised £596.63 for the Reigate and Redhill YMCA – making her the charity's top junior fundraiser for the last year.
And Millie, who was rewarded with a new bicycle donated by Evans Cycles, raised all her money with just one event – the YMCA's Fun Run in May.
YMCA chief executive Ian Burks said: "Millie did an amazing job. Firstly, she ran a whole mile for us and secondly, she has raised a huge amount of money which we will use to help local children and young people with disabilities."
Millie, a student at Horley Infant School, knows first-hand the importance of the charity's facilities – she is a regular at the Yippee club, a safe play provision group at the YMCA Sovereign Centre in Woodhatch.
Her grandmother, Stephanie Prince, said: "She has been going to Yippee for about a year now.
"It's a fantastic place for her, allowing Millie to be Millie without restrictions, and that's why as a family we wanted to support the YMCA in this way."
