Police have appealed for information after a three-year-old boy was assaulted when an egg was thrown from a passing car in Caterham.
The incident occurred just before 9am on Thursday September 12 as the boy and his mother were waiting to cross traffic lights at Chaldon Road.
Investigating officer PC Tony Everson-Darragh, said: "This was an appalling incident which left a young child and his mother very upset.
"Surrey Police simply will not tolerate this kind of behaviour and we are doing all we can to find the person responsible.
"Since the offence occurred we have been making a number of inquiries but would appeal to anyone who has any other information which may assist the investigation to contact us."
The suspects were travelling in a silver 4x4 Mitsubishi.
