A man returned home to find three suspected burglars walking along his driveway.
Detectives have appealed for information following the incident at around 3.30pm last Tuesday, September 10.
The resident arrived home by car at his property in Derek Avenue, Epsom, to find three men walking along the driveway.
The victim challenged the men who made an excuse about why they were there before leaving, walking along Derek Avenue and turning left on to Chessington Road in the direction of Ruxley Lane.
The man discovered his house had been thoroughly searched but at this stage it is not known what, if anything, was stolen during the burglary.
Investigating officer Detective Constable Portia Andrews, said: "The victim was able to provide three good descriptions of the men suspected to have carried out this burglary.
"I would appeal to anyone who can identify the men or who saw people matching their description acting suspiciously in the area to contact officers with information."
The first man is described as white, aged in his 40s, of medium to large build, around 5ft 4in tall. He was wearing a brown zipped top, grey tracksuit bottoms and trainers.
The second man is described as a white man, in his early 20s, of medium build, around 5ft 6in tall. He was wearing tracksuit bottoms.
The third man is described as white, in his early 20s, of medium build and around 5ft 1in tall. He was wearing a black jacket.
