Five men have been charged with assaulting a police officer outside JJ Whispers nightclub in Reigate.
The attack happened at around 1.30am on Friday March 29 this year.
Officers on routine patrol in Church Street spotted a disturbance outside the club and intervened.
One of the police officers was assaulted and was taken to East Surrey Hospital for treatment to abdomen injuries, but was able to return to duty a short time later.
Five men were arrested over the assault. They have now been charged with assault.
Matthew Rooke, 18, of The Chase in Tadworth, Stefan Cappella, 25, of Reigate Road, Reigate, Jonathan Edward Rooke, 26, of Croydon Road, Reigate, Cameron James McIntyre, 18, of Orchard Way in Esher and Jordan Harris, 18, of Red Lion Road in Surbiton, will appear before magistrates in Redhill on Tuesday October 1.
