MOLE Valley SCR halted a three-match losing streak as they held off a second-half fightback from Colliers Wood United on Saturday.
Going into the game, Valley were short on confidence after losing their previous three games in all competitions.
And they started on the back foot as Colliers Wood started the game brightly.
However, Phil Page gave Valley the lead in the tenth minute against the run of play, with a second goal arriving before the half-hour mark thanks to a curling effort from Richie Smith.
A third goal – and a second for Page – arrived five minutes before the break as Valley looked to have wrapped things up.
However, the hosts hit back after the break and got themselves back into the game with two goals from Kieran Cole-Bolt inside the first 15 minutes of the second half.
Chances continued to fall for both sides, but it was Valley who were to strike next, with Fernandez restoring the visitors' two-goal lead.
And Page completed his hat-trick with a penalty on 90 minutes to make it 5-2.
