A CHRISTMAS festival will kick off a series of town centre events for the holiday season.
The celebration in Leatherhead, from 11am to 5pm on December 1, will feature giant penguins, elves and a visit from Santa Claus at 3pm, as well as music and food.
Managers of the town centre and the Swan Centre, in partnership with Churches Together in Leatherhead, will also put on musical entertainment from 10am to 2pm on December 8, 15 and 22.
Swan Centre manager Pat Lawless said: "We are all hoping that this will be a wonderful lead-up to Christmas."
Dave Banko, chairman of Churches Together in Leatherhead, said: "There has never been a month like this, with so many people within and beyond Leatherhead taking part in this celebration."
Among acts performing at the weekends are the Military Wives Choir, the Downsmen barbershop group, the Mole Valley Silver Band and BBC Young Musician of the Year finalist Jordan Black.
