REDHILL boss Mike Maher has praised the desire and character of his squad after they moved up to fifth in the table with two wins on the road this week.
The Reds followed up their 3-1 win at Ramsgate on Saturday with a 2-0 success at Horsham, who are managed by former Redhill manager Simon Colbran.
Richmond Kissi and captain Jon Difford netted the goals at Gorings' Mead, with Maher full of praise for his side.
He said: "We have got great desire and character in the squad. Everyone seems to keep writing us off and saying we are an average side, but we can't be a bad team and we are taking points off these teams.
"We don't worry about what others say, though – we just go about our business and we have got a great bunch of boys."
Maher admits that his side are probably punching above their weight in the division, with his Reds now fifth in the league, but he says there is no reason why they can't maintain their good recent form, even though top scorer Richmond Kissi will now miss up to five matches, having been sent off for the second match in a row at Ramsgate.
He said: "We have been on a terrific run of late and have done particularly well away from home.
"We have won five games away in all competitions and we are confident in how we set up, but we have picked up points at home too and we are looking forward to being back at home this week [against Three Bridges].
"It is a local derby and that will add a bit of fire to the game, but we are looking forward to it and hopefully we will put on a good performance."
