ZAC KING says Warlingham need to start winning games soon as they look to overcome a tough start to the season.
Wars went down to a second straight defeat on Saturday as a narrow 10-6 loss at Crowborough left them bottom of the early-season table.
And the Warlingham skipper said it was a tough result to take, having more than matched their opponents during an exciting contest.
He said: "It was really tight, but this one hurt more than most.
"As a collective group, we stood there in disbelief at the end of the game as to how we had lost the game.
"There was a lot of huff and puff, but we just weren't able to take advantage of our opportunities.
"We spent a good hour of the game in their 22 and to be fair to them, their defending was excellent, but we were so disappointed at the end of the game."
A dull, overcast day provided nigh-on perfect playing conditions for the match and Borough started the stronger of the two sides, putting the first score on the board after ten minutes with a catch and drive straight from the training pitch.
A Joe McEvoy penalty reduced the deficit to 5-3 at half-time and Wars were in front when the same man landed a second penalty early in the second half.
However, a stray clearance kick from the visitors allowed Crowborough in and they took advantage, scoring a second try to regain the lead.
Warlingham pushed late on to try to get back into the game, but to no avail as the hosts held on for a narrow victory.
And King said his side were now desperate for a win on Saturday when they play Heathfield and Waldron at Hamsey Green.
