DOM SIBLEY'S team-mates have rushed to congratulate him after the teenager today became the youngest Surrey player to hit a first-class century.
Sibley opened the batting for Surrey against Yorkshire this week alongside another young player, Rory Burns, 23.
The pair put on Surrey's best scoring opening partnership of the season, 171, in the County Championship Division One fixture, before Burns edged Steven Patterson behind for 82, leaving Sibley on 81.
However, Sibley, who also plays for Ashtead Cricket Club, carried on batting admirably in the third day of the match, alongside Tim Linley and then Hashim Amla.
Sibley finally made his 100 just after midday today, and became the youngest Surrey player to do so at 18 years and 21 days, beating a record set in 1904 by Jack Crawford, who was 18 years old and 257 days when he hit his 100.
