LINGFIELD manager Dixie Dean has hailed the impact of new boy Richard Wetton after the striker scored and set up another goal on his debut on Saturday.
The 19-year-old, who has joined the Godstone Road outfit from Dorking, scored the first of his side's three goals as Lingfield came from behind to beat Selsey, while he also set up Joel O'Hara for the second goal in the 3-1 win.
And his boss said he was pleased with the scaffolder's performance, adding that he may be the answer to Lingfield's recent goalscoring problems.
"He had a good debut on Saturday and he looked good," said Dean.
"I was very pleased with him and he has been very good since he came to us.
"We still have Danny Oakins and Josh Coulson to come back, but he gives us another option and he could be the one I have been looking for."
Lingfield travel to face high-flying Horsham YMCA on Saturday.
