RECENTLY retired England selector Geoff Miller will be the guest speaker at Merstham Cricket Club's 150th anniversary dinner on Friday, August 15.

A right-handed all-rounder, Geoff played 254 first-class games for Derbyshire from 1973 to 1986 and in 1990, when he returned after a spell with Essex.

Between 1987 and 1989 he played 34 Tests for England, with a best score of 98, achieved twice.

From 2008 to 2013 Geoff was chairman of selectors for England and in the 2014 New Year's Honours list was appointed OBE for services to cricket. This month he has been appointed president of Derbyshire.

Merstham's 150th anniversary dinner takes place at Reigate Hill Golf Club and the price has been set at £40 per head. There will be a three-course meal and live band to dance to. To book tickets, e-mail Richard Feist at retro_rich@hotmail.co.uk

The club, based at Quality Street, would love to hear the memories of retired and older players who have memories going back over the past 50 years.
