A 16-year-boy who appeared in court this morning has denied murdering an Oxted schoolgirl.
The accused teenager, who cannot be named for legal reasons, was accompanied by a security guard in the dock at Guildford Crown Court.
Wearing a grey T-shirt and black trousers, he replied "not guilty" when the charge of murdering Elizabeth Thomas in Oxted on January 24 was read out to him.
Elizabeth, from West Wickham and a student at Oxted School, was found dead at a property in Amy Road.
A post-mortem examination found that she had died from a stab wound.
The boy is due to stand trial on September 9.
The hearing is expected to last about two weeks.
