THE burnt body of a man found shot dead in a Range Rover in St Lucia is feared to be that of Surrey multi-millionaire Oliver Gobat.
The charred body was discovered on Friday night, hours after the Gobat family is believed to have reported him missing to Caribbean police.
Mr Gobat previously represented Surrey juniors at cricket and his parents live in Esher.
Police and the Foreign Office have not yet confirmed the victim's name, but tributes have already started to be paid to Mr Gobat on Twitter.
Double Olympic decathlon gold medallist Daley Thompson wrote: "My love and thoughts go out to friends and family of Ollie Gobat. He was a gem and his family must have been so proud of him. RIP, my friend."
Former heptathlete and Olympic gold medallist Denise Lewis also tweeted: "Just reading the shocking news about the death of Oliver Gobat. So very sad. My condolences to his family and friends. Such a lovely guy."
