THOUSANDS of people enjoyed fun in the sun at the ever-popular Blindley Heath Country Show.
Pig racing, dancing dogs and falconry were among the eye-catching attractions on Sunday and Monday at Osney Lodge Farm in Byers Lane, South Godstone.
The show, which celebrates all things rural, also included an appearance by the Old Surrey Burstow and West Kent Hunt.
There was something for all ages. As well as an array of stalls and sideshows, there was a display of sports and classic cars, and children could enjoy the thrills of a funfair or tractor rides.
A range of refreshment stands offered everything from hog roasts to burgers.
The first Blindley Heath Country Show was established in 2005 as an antidote to existing agricultural shows. Event organiser Graham Page said: "They were fast losing their farming and country roots, and were simply drifting into becoming highly commercialised events, where the true interests of the visitors were being overlooked.
"We insisted that all trade stands had to have a rural, farming or countryside connection,"
Two years ago, the second day of the show was abandoned due to dreadful weather.
And two years before that, "diabolical" rain wrecked the first day's proceedings.
Fortunately this year's event was blessed with glorious sunshine.
