A WOMAN from Weybridge who made nuisance calls to police every week for more than a year has been handed an ASBO.
Paula Burns, of Gate Court, Gateway, made 86 inappropriate calls to police over the last 14 months.
She dialled 999 some 41 times making false claims about her neighbours, police said.
The 44-year-old appeared at North Surrey Magistrates Court on November 20 charged with wasting police time.
She was fined £100 and given an Anti Social Behaviour Order to run until November 19, 2014.
Surrey Police worked with Elmbridge Housing Trust to obtain the ASBO following concerns from local residents about Burns' behaviour and issues with her calling police either inappropriately or to make false allegations.
Neighbourhood Inspector David Hollingsworth said: "Paula Burns was given various warnings about her behaviour and the consequences if she continued to act in this way and misuse the emergency telephone system but has failed to heed these warnings."
Under the conditions of the ASBO, Burns is prohibited from:
1. Calling or causing others to call the 999 emergency telephone system or any emergency services for any reason other than a genuine emergency.
2. Engaging in any conduct or encouraging others to engage in conduct that will cause alarm, harassment or distress to any residents and/or visitors of/to Gate Court, Weybridge, Surrey.
