A WINE broker said to be suffering severe financial difficulties took his own life at Gatwick Airport rail station, an inquest has ruled.
Surrey coroner Penelope Schofield concluded that 45-year-old Darren Lansdown, committed suicide on November 6 last year.
Mr Lansdown, a wine broker of Hamilton Close, Horley, was said to be suffering from severe financial difficulties and had previously spoken about taking his own life, the inquest was told.
CCTV shows Mr Lansdown standing alone on platform five. A train approached travelling northbound to London.
Mr Lansdown is then seen to jump in front of the train, the inquest heard.
Police identified him at the scene by a bank card and a post mortem examination at East Surrey Hospital found he died from multiple injuries.
Coroner Penelope Schofield recorded: "My conclusion in this case is that Darren took his own life."
