CAMBERLEY'S first ever open-air Christmas lights switch on got off to a spectacular start last night with a packed night of festive fun.
Thousands of people packed the town's High Street where London 2012 Olympic medallist Karina Bryant took the stage to illuminate the town's lights at 7.15pm.
The bronze medallist Judo champion was joined by local singing star Danny Cooper, Miss Teen Great Britain 2012 Daisy Whetlor, an Olympic torchbearer and Santa Claus and for the town's inaugural outdoor switch on.
Live music by Danny Cooper and a Take That tribute band entertained crowds while dance acts, a marching parade band and mascots provided more festive cheer.
