A hammer was thrown through a window of a Caterham pub yesterday.
The incident happened at the Old Surrey Hounds pub in The Square at about 6.30pm.
No-one was injured.
Soon afterwards a man was arrested in connection with the offence.
Investigating officer Dave Evans, said: "If you witnessed the incident or the events surrounding it please contact me as a matter of urgency, on 101."
The man, who is in his 40s, was arrested on suspicion of criminal damage and driving whilst under the influence of alcohol or drugs.
