A DEVOTED dad will embark on a 1,000-mile bike ride having learnt that one of his daughters has Type 1 diabetes.
Simon Casse, 38, of Horley Road, Salfords, will set off next Friday to cycle from Land's End to John O'Groats.
Aiming to raise at least £1,000 for Diabetes UK, he will be accompanied by friend Robert Hack, 39, of Harwood Park, Salfords, and Robert's father-in-law Bert Wilkins, who lives in East Sussex.
Mr Casse, 38, a logistics manager, found out his seven-year-old daughter Maisie had the condition, meaning she now needs four injections a day.
He has been out cycling at weekends for up to six hours to train for the big event.
