WORK to repair a burst water main in Gatton Bottom has taken longer than planned and the road is expected to remain closed until this evening.
Sutton and East Surrey WAter, which is responsible for pipes and supply in the area, carried out the work over the weekend and the firm had hoped to have road open by this morning (Monday).
But the tarmac on the newly-relaid surface has not yet set and the road is not expected to reopen before 8pm.
A diversion is in place and there has been no loss of supply in the area.
