PLANS to surround six exclusive homes in a private Kingswood estate with six-foot fences have been submitted to the borough council.
New owners of the multi- million-pound luxury houses in Kingswood Warren Park and Beech Drive want permission to seal them off from neighbouring mansions.
The Mirror reported in May how neighbours had squared up to the owners, believed to be Middle Eastern royalty, after some fences were installed without planning permission.
The elite family has been accused of trying to create a "stockade-style enclosure".
Now an application has been lodged with Reigate and Banstead Borough Council to install metal railings and gates, fences and screening hedges.
Symphony Ltd, acting on behalf of the owners, said in the planing statement: "Our clients have suffered a major break-in and theft and then several trespassing incidents with a likely intent to steal.
"The objectors have not recognised that the proposed fencing will be entirely covered by new rhododendron hedging in all areas. Within a relatively short period the fencing will not be visible at all."
The applicant also alluded to friction between neighbours.
The statement said: "Our client's representatives have been approached by some of the neighbours with politically motivated comments.
"We are not addressing those comments in this statement. We will refer solely to planning considerations."
If the plans are approved, as well as the six-foot fences a new gate could also be installed in Kingswood Warren Park, sealing off an access road and turning point intended to be used by all residents of the road.
The applicant states it will provide a new turning point and hydrant outside of its entrance gates.
The borough council will decide whether to grant permission by August 6.
