A FORMER property developer who shares his name with a famous power ballad singer has appeared in court after relieving himself in front of passengers at Oxted railway station.
Michael Bolton, now of no fixed abode, was arrested after pulling down his trousers and excreting on the platform on June 22.
Redhill Magistrates fined Bolton £50 for "outraging public decency, namely defecating and urinating in broad daylight and in open view of passengers". He was already on a conditional discharge for a previous offence.
Bolton, a well-spoken 47-year-old, has previously talked of his life as a property developer, which fell apart in the aftermath of the Lehman Brothers bank collapse in 2008.
"I had a nice house in Woldingham back then," he said. "That's when the mounting financial problems made me turn to drink."
Bolton has been sleeping rough near Morrisons in Oxted.
