THE headmaster of Caterham School is leaving next year.
Julian Thomas has been appointed the Master of Wellington College, in Berkshire, from September 2015.
He said: "I have genuinely loved my time here and I am very sad to be departing a school with truly inspirational staff and students. I can honestly say that every day has been a pleasure.
"It has been a privilege to lead the school, which is now firmly established as one of the top co-educational day and boarding schools in England."
Jonathan Bloomer, chairman of the school's trustees, said: "All of the school community congratulates Julian on this prestigious appointment. We thank him for his outstanding contribution to the school.
"The process of recruiting a successor has already begun."
