THE former site of government offices in Redhill will be put back into use after plans for a new office building were given the go-ahead.
A modern four-storey block will replace the 1950s Crown Buildings in London Road, which used to house the Department for Work and Pensions.
Reigate and Banstead Borough Council's planning committee approved the proposals, submitted by McKay Securities, on Thursday.
The new offices are intended to be occupied by either one or multiple companies.
Councillor Julian Ellacott welcomed the plans but said: "Clearly I'm hopeful the developer has an occupant lined up."
The plans also include basement car parking with ten recharging bays for electric or hybrid vehicles and spaces for 44 bikes.
