Surrey Championship Premier Division
Spencer 238
Reigate Priory 217-6
Winning draw for Reigate Priory
LUKE Beaven took a six-wicket haul as Reigate Priory earned a winning draw at Spencer in a match cut short due to rain.
Without Richie Oliver, the Llamas found a decent replacement in in-form Surrey batsmen Jason Roy.
Having won the toss, Priory put the home side into bat with Luke Billingham going first for 14, before Chris Baumann followed for ten, both off the bowling on Will Hodson (2-36).
Hugo Darby (54) and Krishna Sivakumaran (48) put on a decent partnership before both were bowled by Steven Hirst.
Beaven, who has been in great form the Llamas this season, accounted for the rest of the hosts' batting line up without too much worry, taking 6-68 as they finished all out for 238.
Priory's batting line up looked formidable but at 1-1 after Andy Delmont was caught by Darby off the bowling of Alex Tudor, the home side would have felt a little more confident.
Long-time team-mates Roy and Chris Murtagh steadied the ship however, before the Surrey star was caught by Luke Billingham off the bowling of Jonathan Speller for 54 off 51 balls.
Craig Cachopa, playing for Priory hours after making his first team debut for Sussex in the T20, hit 44 runs off 44 balls with Michael Burgess contributing six and then Murtagh going not long after for a patient 49. Priory skipper Neil Saker was out for five, while Henry Tye had amassed 40 as the rain set in, leaving the visitors at 217-6.
